AYC 2008 Organizers

We all want to take a moment to say thank you to the creators of the previous Atlanta Yoga Conferences. The work they put into AYC 2006 & 2007 was inspiring to us, to say the least! Without them there would be no AYC!

We also want to thank everyone who has helped us put this year's conference together: all the sponsors, volunteers and beautiful yoga teachers who wanted to be part of it; Jim Fox for his design expertise on the AYC brochures and posters; and Urban Body Studios for playing host, and allowing us use of their truly gorgeous space.

Finally, we'd like to say a BIG thanks to all of you! The yoga community here in Atlanta, and throughout the Southeast is continually growing, and it's yogis like you, supporting events like this that make us proud to be a part of it all.

~ Om Shanti!

Kelley Colihan
'Don't ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs are people who have come alive.'
Howard Thurman

Kelley Colihan is happily honored to help organize the 3rd Atlanta Yoga Conference. Many thanks to Melissa Katz for being a pillar of fire!
Kelley has a 200 hour teaching certificate from Peachtree Yoga and hundreds of hours of advanced teacher training from Vinyasa Flow master Shiva Rea. She enjoys diving in to different styles, sampling yoga in different cultures (people in the U.S. do the most warrior asana!) and learning from all students & teachers.
In addition to teaching at Jai Shanti Yoga and offering individualized yoga sessions Kelley covers health and medical news for WebMD and has recently launched "yogastars" (Yogastars Website)- a blend of yoga and journalism on the web.
Melissa Katz
Melissa is excited to be an organizer for the Atlanta Yoga Conference for her second year, having picked up the mantel from Christina Johnson and Susan Voelker after they created it in 2006. She offers a deep bow to Kelley Colihan, who was her co-organizer for this year's conference and has become a good friend as well.

Melissa received her 200-hour teacher training at Peachtree Yoga Center and is working toward a 500-hour advanced teaching certification in the Kripalu and Pranakriya Yoga traditions. She teaches and practices multiple styles of yoga and is focused on yin and restorative yoga practices. She also holds certification as a pre- and post-natal yoga instructor. Melissa teaches at several studios in town, including Jai Shanti Yoga, Nirvana Yoga, and Decatur Healing Arts.
